Some links here and in video descriptions will eventually be affiliate links, meaning I earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. As of this writing no affiliate link is live anywhere on this site or in any video. When the first one goes up, it will be labeled as an affiliate link at the point of the link, not only on this page.
I turn down products I haven't used myself for at least a month. If a company sends me something, I say so in the video it appears in.
What this site collects
Page-level traffic counts through Cloudflare Web Analytics: page address, referrer, browser and country, aggregated. It sets no cookies and builds no profile, which is why there is no cookie banner on this site — there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
The site loads no advertising scripts, no social widgets, no chat widget, no third-party fonts, and no tracking pixels. The fonts and images come from this domain.
If you email sponsors@thefamilyhelpdesk.com, I have your message and your address, in my mailbox, and I use them to reply to you.
Downloads
Every checklist and template on this site downloads with no email address required. There is no form in front of it and no wall around it.
Asking someone for personal data in exchange for a free safety document is the same trade a phishing lure asks for. This channel teaches older adults to refuse that trade, so it will not be making the offer.
The newsletter, as policy
- Signing up asks for an email address and nothing else. No name field, no phone number.
- It sends about once a month.
- The list lives in my own database on my own Cloudflare account. It stays there: it is not for sale, not for rent, and not shared with anyone.
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link that works without logging in or replying.
- Clicking unsubscribe stops the sending at that moment. The issue after it goes out without that address on it.
- The stored address is then deleted from the database within 30 days. What remains is an aggregate count of how many people left that month, with no addresses in it.
The newsletter arrives from thefamilyhelpdesk.com, and the unsubscribe link inside it points at news.thefamilyhelpdesk.com.
Those two domains are the whole set. An email calling itself this newsletter from any other domain came from somebody else, and deleting it is the right answer. Check the sender domain the same way this channel teaches you to check a bank email — read it left to right, and trust the part just before the final dot.
